Palmer Youth Ministries Leadership

About the Director of Youth Ministries

What is snow?

Ross Heinsohn didn’t grow up an Episcopalian. In fact, he was baptized and confirmed at a Lutheran church in his hometown of San Antonio.  After a friend invited him to a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at a small church, he found a community, a support group, and some of the best friends he’ll ever know.

Ross moved to Houston for college, and graduated in 2006 from the University of St Thomas with his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Theology.

Work Experience -

Ross worked in Technology and Web Development for nearly 11 years.  He has been the Director of the Media Ministries at Palmer for nearly 3 years.   He was also appointed the Interim Youth Minister during the summer of 2010 and 2011.  While working as the Part-Time Interim Youth Minister in the summer of 2011, the Palmer Youth Ministries tripled in size.  He still claims this is not his fault.  He accepted the call to become the Director of Youth Ministries in December 2011, and has been loving it ever since.

The Virgin Mary is stalking Ross.

For fun -

Ross reads boring books, listens to old music, dabbles in gardening (on his 30th floor balcony), and plays Xbox 360 with his friends and even some of the Youth.

Combining all these experiences, Ross is able to bring to the youth and their friends new games, new communication tools, a place where they won’t be judged, a welcoming
and safe Christian environment, and a fresh perspective on theology and religion.
